Today's Project
Today I decided in the midst of unpacking to do a little "project" with Rosalie. We're learning shapes, numbers and letters and grandma had gotten her some shape stickers. Rosalie found them and so we stuck them on some paper and I labeled them. I taped it to her bedroom door at her height so we can point them out whenever we go up there. Of course this means she wants to pull all the stickers off, though.

I Really Stink at Blog Titles.
So just yet another small update on life.
Nothing major going on over here in good ol' Terre Haute. Just getting moved in and settling.
I'm starting to plan Rosalie's birthday party. Pinterest has some great ideas, as do friends in a couple mommy groups I'm a part of. Glad to have some creative minds to assist since I'm not very creative! I think we've chosen the Mickey Mouse theme. She LOVES her some mickey mouse! She also really digs saying 'oh toooodles'. So it'll be a 'twodles'/mickey theme. I'm not sure how big we're going this year but i think it's going to go quickly from a small party to a big one especially since this is our first party being back home and all that fun jazz. I'm excited for the "hot diggity dog" bar! Maybe some "pluto's doggy bags" to send home with people, too. I'm trying to find some good recipes for some wholesome foods and a low sugar/low crap cake to make. I should probably test it out before the big day. Tentatively her party will be april 21st since mike has drill the weekend of her birthday.
We're still moving in and unpacking. We have to head to the apartment this weekend to clean and get the last few things. We purchased a new bed (heavenly!) this week and got a couple couches a couple weeks ago. Slowly but surely this place is coming together how we want it. We do have some renovation plans for next summer (2014). We're hoping to gut the basement, move the bathroom down here, take out a built in and panelling as well as redoing the bar and adding some grounded outlets down there. It's just not a great layout and we cannot stand paneling!
We're also in the process of decorating the girls' rooms. Gabby will have the Dr. Seuss bedding that rosalie had. I'm going to get some old Dr. Seuss books and frame the pages, make her name out of fabric and iron it to the wall and make some type of banner/hanging thing for above her crib. I do want to also get a rug for in there. Rosalie's we haven't decided what to do. Probably just some fun colors until she's old enough to choose for herself. i have been looking for mickey bedding but that's proving difficult for a full size bed. She's getting our old bed so we don't have to buy a twin or another crib. We haven't started that transition yet but I'm sure we will soon enough. I'll also be making a canvas with a cherry blossom on it (that's the theme i originally wanted for her) and also doing her name in fabric on the wall for her as well.
A couple days ago i got the bright idea from Pinterest to create a rice bin for rosalie with cups, spoons, etc in. Why on earth did i think that was a fabulous idea?! She ended up with rice and beans and popcorn all over the kitchen! Of course, she had fun and that's what matters but i hate cleaning...so, that part wasn't a blast. Last night she enjoyed some sink time and played with some spoons in the kitchen sink and loved having the faucet on to play with, too. We're working on numbers, letters, colors and shapes. She doesn't "get it" yet but she'll get there. We're also on to the SUPER fun fit-throwing phase. I just adore when she throws herself on the floor crying. So dramatic! Anyone have any advice on how to deter that? We usually take her to a separate place and talk with her or ignore her depending on where we're at.
Since Gabby hasn't been baptized, we're working on that as well. Just have to get it all sorted out! I think right now we're looking at having it done in March but I'll letchya know.
Both girls are doing fantastically and we like our new pediatrician quite a bit. We'll see how the next few appointments go but as of now, we're happy with our choice. There was no pressure to start food early, no arguments with our vaccination schedule and she said the girls look like they're doing well. Rosalie's learning more words each day. It's odd because she doesn't say many words for objects but she does say quite a few words. Not that many people understand what she's saying, though!

It's a shelter for battered women in Indianapolis. i tried to go to spin class and Gabs was NOT having the child watch and I can't blame her. They ladies weren't super friendly and made a few comments that were unnerving. Guess I'll just have to go to the gym to swim when Mike is home from work and maybe spin as well.

We met some of our neighbors and I'm VERY happy to say that they were so sweet and welcoming! Can't wait for more play dates and company!
Munchkin here thought it'd be funny to drool all over daddy's side of the bed!

It's Moving Time!
We closed on our house on the 15th of January and are moving and getting this up and going. We're loving all the space, storage and being able to finally settle down.
We got our internet set up yesterday and the guy did a terrible job setting the cable line up. He put it right above our deck! I'm only 5'3" or so and can reach up and grab it. Plus, the cable runs right where we're putting the grill. Obviously, that's not going to work so they're coming out to fix it tomorrow.
The girls are doing fantastic. Learning and growing more and more each day. We're taking them to a new pediatrician soon. I wasn't pleased with the previous one. A pediatrician that tries to sabotage a breast feeding relationship and goes agains the AAPs advice (their governing body) is no pediatrician that I want treating the girls. I know it sounds a bit whacky but it's not acceptable to me.
I'm down a few pounds thanks to watching my calorie intake. Nothing fancy but I do hope to settle into a work out program of some sort and run a couple 5k this summer.
I'm hoping to be able to blog more now that we've got internet. I hope to blog some projects/crafts the girlies and I do as well as some of my own. Stay tuned for that funness!

Rosalie 20m
Rosalie hasn't been to the doctor in about a month so I'll guess on her stats.
Height- 35-36in by my crude measuring skills
Weight- 29.5lb
Shoe size- 5 but almost 6
Favorite activities- coloring, eating,dancing and making people laugh
Least favorite- diaper changes
New words- what? Why? Hello
Favorite word- no (what toddler doesn't love thus word!), bye, sorry and thanks
We went to the park today and she chased around a little girl, letter a puppy's tail and enjoyed the 60 degree weather in December!

Gabby turned 4m old on the 7th of January. Hard to believe its gone so quickly!

Head circumference- 41cm
She can roll belly to back but has only done it a few times. She's trying really hard to roll back to belly. She grasps at toys and coos and talks a lot. She's living up to her name!
She ADORES watching her big sister. Smiles at her all day long, it's the sweetest thing!
She now naps in her pack n play most of the time but spends the night in bed with us and sleep nurses a lot. Honestly, I have no idea how often she wakes up as I just nurse her without fully waking.
She's taken a bottle twice but only from me. Mike doesn't really try though either so maybe shed take it if someone else did it. We aren't sure.
No new foods yet. A couple more months, when she's ready and we will start.

Today's Adventure
Today while speaking to a friend I realized that I'm among those addicted to Facebook. Not as much the Internet or other social media but Facebook is time consuming for me. It's stupid, ridiculous and takes up time that I could be doing other, more important things. I've done well with doing more housework before enjoying Facebook time. I decided today that for the next week I'll only Use the social media site while the girls are asleep. My phone will be shut off (or placed in another room so I can get calls) the hours of 8am-12ish when Rosalie and gabby typically nap and will be put back once they wake up. My phone will also no longer be attached to my when mike is home. He deserves my attention and I deserve his. We're equally bad about our phones recently. Maybe he will jump on board. Maybe I'll even leave the thing home sometimes!
So, while gabby was napping and Rosalie decided a 45min nap was enough and woke up, her and I made "ice cream". Frozen strawberries and fresh cantaloupe, not bad surprisingly! She's sitting in her seat eating now while I take time to update the blog.
If you guys see me online, message me and ask if they're up! Help me stay accountable!

2012 Has Come and Gone
How quickly this year has gone by! It's hard to believe everything this year has blessed us with. It's been an amazing ride!
Our year, chronologically:
Dec 30, 2011 (maybe the 29/31, I've forgotten)- we found out we were expecting again! Right around this time we found out two other friends of outs were expecting as well! (Oddly enough we all ended up having beautiful baby girls!)
January was pretty uneventful from what I recall. I'll look back on my blogs and Facebook to be sure later. We did have an ultrasound done that showed a healthy baby implanted in the right spot.
February was my birthday and valentines day. Mike also started clearing the army in Korea at the end of the month signaling the countdown to going home.
March is where the fun began! We cleared our apartment around the 7th I believe. We owed nothing which was amazing given the dog had eaten a wall. We already had fixed it before the landlord looked through the apartment. He spoke no English but had brought pjs for Rosalie as a gift. A very kind man.
The LeBlancs were kind enough to let us stay with them until we left rather than in a hotel. It was a bit rough for Rosalie's sleep. She's never done well sleeping in new environments.
Our flight was scheduled to leave on march 13 but got delayed a day due to snow in Japan. We had to fly the next day and had to rebook out connecting flights. Talk about a super headache and blow to the pocket!! Rosalie did alright on the flights. She was up the whole flight from Korea to Japan and Japan to Seattle. She slept the rest of way to indiana.
Amy's cousin did an ultrasound for us while we were home and showed that Rosalie would have a little sister to play with!
At the end of the month our journey to Washington began.
April continued our trek west. Rosalie did well, no major incidences and lots of sight seeing. We arrived in Washington and amber and her husband Michael graciously accepted us into their home and made us feel welcome while we waited on housing. Thankfully on the 17th we were able to move in! Our possessions from Korea arrived about a week later.
Rosalie's birthday was the 26th and we spent the day loving on out girl, buying her a ball pit and getting her some McDonalds which she loved of course.
We had a birthday party for her on cinco de mayo and invited the few people we knew. We grilled and let her smash a cupcake. We loved having a small party just for her. It was perfect.
Mike was gone in California all of June so it was just baby girl and me. Nothing too eventful happened that I recall. Lots of hanging out and time inside as it rained a ton.
4th of July we spent at a baseball game on Seattle. It was freezing and we ended up having to buy Rosalie a blanket! A blanket. It July. Wrap your head around that!
August was exhaustingly hot in this hugely pregnant mama! Lots of Popsicles were consumed! We walked to the commissary a lot trying to get gabby to come out to no avail. Mikes car was also hit by a moving truck and we ended up with a rental for a couple weeks. We visited Portland and ate at voodoo donuts. Yummmmmy!!
September is when our lives changed forever. Gabrielle Elyse was born sept 7. You can read about her birth here:

October we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary, watched a lot of cardinals baseball and came back to indiana. It was a long few days but not terrible and the girls did well. We celebrated Halloween where Rosalie was a monkey and Gabby a banana.
We were living in our apartment by November in terre haute and celebrated thanksgiving in connersville. Mike also started his new job that month. Both girls adjusted to the apartment well though I'm positive Rosalie would like more room to run.
We put an offer in on the house at the beginning December or sometime around there. It was accepted and were nearing closing now. It was also mikes birthday as well as his moms. Of course Christmas, too. We were all spoiled this year and loved being able to be home. Mike and I were both sick though which was no fun at all. My grandma died chrisymas morning but is in a much better place. The year ended with kisses and snuggles for the babies.
We're so excited to see what 2013 will bring us. I'm not sure what could top last year but I know it will be great. I'll have to add pictures to this later. The blogger app stinks on 3G and we have no wifi.
